Lake Argyle (2WD)

Not long after you leave the NT, (and before Kununurra) you'll come across the turn off for Lake Argyle, and it's defintely worth dropping in.  There is a lovely caravan park with an infinity pool.  The lake has 28 times the capacity of Sydney Harbour.  You can canoe along the river into Kununurra.  Lakeargyle.com

El Questro (4WD)

700,000 acres wilderness park tourist detination. You will need 4WD. If you don't have one, consider, taking a tour from Kununura -. Highlights include, El Questro Falls, An awesome walk up the river bed, and you're rewarded with a lovely pool to swim in at the end. Blanco Look Out,  (picture to the left). A slightly challenging drive up to a look out with an awesome view of the Pentecost River. Zebedee Springs Lovely warm springs to soak in.  Elquestro.com.au

Kununurra (2WD)

Kununurra Population is 7,500 in far northern Western Australia located at the eastern extremity of the Kimberley approximately 45 kilometres from the border with the Northern Territory. Kununurra was initiated to service the Ord River Irrigation Scheme.  This town is the Eastern Gateway to the Kimberly and the Gibb River Road  There is a good hospital.  From here you can go to Wydham and see the 5 River Look out,


Ivanhoe Crossing (2WD)

This is a causeway that was part of the main road crossing the mighty Ord River just on the edge of Kununurra. There are salt water crocs here. This is 2WD to get there, but you need will probably need 4WD to cross the causeway, depending on river depth.


Bungle Bungles (4WD)

The Bungle Bungle Range is the landform that is the major component of the Purnululu National Park situated in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Need 4WD - If not get a tour from Kununurra.  Bungle bungles


5 River Lookout, Wyndham (2WD)

On the edge of the Gulf, there are 5 rivers that join together to flow out to the ocean. King River, Ord River, Durack River, Forrest River and the the Pentecost. 2 WD is fine.

Halls Creek (2WD)

Halls Creek is a small town, has fuel and police. The Tanamai Track starts here and comes out at Alice Springs. (Also the Canning Stock Route starts here).

China Walls is a rocky outcrop, 6 k's out of town.  We've stayed overnight, but not recommended.
