Karijini is amazing. There are 2 camp sites, Dales Gorge Camp Ground (there is also an overflow campground for Dales Gorge) in the East and the Eco Resort on the Western side. We recommend stay in Dales Gorge Campground and see all the sites there and then move to the Eco Resort to see all gorges at that end. Update: Now the road is sealed between the West and Eastern sides, it's not as important.
1. Weano Recreation Area – West Side
Home of Eco Resort Karijini
Weano Gorge.
Handrool Pool, May be able to swim if water is flowing
Hancock Gorge, includes the following
· Spider Walk
· Amphitheatre.
· Kermits Pool – definitely can swim
Joffre Gorge – access to bottom from Eco Resort, viewing platform is on the Eastern side (road to Knox Gorge. Looks like it was cut with a saw.
Knox Gorge A real Class 5 hike with a steep descent and ascent. Very deep gorge. The hardest of all gorges.
2. Kalamina (Dirt road access) part way between Eco and Dales
Not a deep gorge, but a lovely long walk, swimming.
3. Dales Gorge Eastern Side
Home of Dales Campground, and also Overflow Campground and Rubbish Trailer and a tank with non treated water.
Circular Pool Closed due to risk of falling rocks.
Fortescue Falls & Pool – Great swimming
Fern Pool – even better swimming
Gorge walk starts near Circular Pool, then follow the gorge to Fortescue & Fern pools – leave your car at the main parking and walk along the top of the ridge to near Circular Pool and then descend into the gorge. Then you don’t have to tramp back to your car after coming up the steps.
4. Hamersley Gorge Northern side (dirt rode access)
Home of iconic Spa Pool, a little difficult walk
Can swim at both pools.
